There are 3 different ways you can use the set of Nipple Shields according to your baby's age: 

As A Breastfeeding Aid

From Day 1 - Our Nipple Shield makes breastfeeding easier. It is a silicone cover that goes over your nipple. As it mimics the top of a baby bottle, it allows for a baby to latch on easily. It has tiny holes at the top so to extract the milk from your breast via the shield.

Wean Your Baby From Shield Back To Nipple

Recommended from 3 months of age - Once breastfeeding is established, the product helps you wean your baby off Nipple Shields, transitioning smoothly back to direct skin to skin breastfeeding. You put the open top nipple shield over your nipple so the baby starts to feel the silicone and the nipple texture at once.

Wean Your Baby Off Breastfeeding Entirely

Recommended after at least 6 months of breastfeeding - Use the product to transition your baby from breastfeeding to nipple shields and then to bottle. Put the open top nipple shield over your nipple so the baby starts to feel the silicone and the nipple texture at once. This gets your baby introduced to a silicone bottle like texture.

How to Use It

Nipple Shield Instructions

Nipple shields can help protect your nipples while still allowing breastfeeding. Made from soft, ultra-thin silicone, they are gentle enough for sensitive, dry, or cracked skin. 

1) A nipple shield is a soft, flexible silicone cover that is placed over the nipple before breastfeeding to provide protection. It has small holes at the tip, allowing milk to flow through to your baby.

Some mothers may be concerned that using a 'barrier' between them and their baby could affect the bonding experience during breastfeeding. - MedicareTech™ nipple shields address this by featuring three open sections, ensuring you can still maintain that precious skin-to-skin contact.

Weaning System Instructions

When your feeding routine is established, the baby’s sucking becomes stronger and you become more comfortable with breastfeeding, you may want to stop using the Nipple Shields.

We at Medicare Tech, have designed a step by step weaning system to comfortably allow your baby to go back to breast.  Use the open top nipple shields to get back to feeding straight from the nipple. Two sizes to gradually reintroduce the nipple. 

1) Place the highest open top nipple shield over the nipple before breastfeeding. It is open top to allow milk to flow through to your baby. The nipple is mostly still covered to give a gradual introduction to the new flow of the milk and the new sensation of the nipple.

2) Once feeding is established, place the lowest open top nipple shield over the nipple before breastfeeding. It is open top to allow milk to flow through to your baby. The nipple is less covered by the silicon cover to give a greater feel to the sensation of the nipple.

Cleaning Instructions

Before first use: Sterilise in boiling water for 5 minutes.

Regularly clean after each use with soapy cold water. Sterilise once daily.
